Winter is here

The boys came running to me this morning, with much enthusiasm, to tell me that it was snowing outside. They were quite elated; jumping, singing and arms flaring. My reaction… Ugh. Need I say more. I like snow… on Christmas. Not now. Not ALL winter long (and then some). Oh how I hope this year is not as bad as last.

There are a few things that I do enjoy however, about this season…
I love me a steaming cup of hot cocoa (with marshmallows of course).
I love the smell and feel of the fireplace.
I love cuddling on the couch, with the kids, or hubby or even by myself (and I know I’m gonna love it with my precious baby girl too, not that I don’t already cuddle with her all. the. time.).
I love Christmas cookies. (And I will continue to wake up at 5:30 AM and work out through the cold winter mornings just so that I can eat em!)
I love Christmas shopping. A lot.
I love making Christmas gifts.
I love Christmas music. Yes, I am one a them. I’ll complain about the decorations and trees and isles of Christmas merchandise that are already in the stores, but you could have started playing Christmas music last month and I’d a loved it! (Now hubby is saying Ugh!)

Although I might be able to come up with a few more, I’m gonna have to cut this list off cause I’m starin at a shadow in the shape of a two year old who is supposed to be in his bed.

  1. Snow?!? How exciting–at least the first snowfall is!! We had a little bit of snow mixed with rain so it didn’t amount to much, and that was early. There are some things I can think of that I like about winter, too–in fact, I like every season.Christmas music, getting out the ornaments every year with the kids–it’s like a new discovery even though we’ve seen them all before! We all look and say remember when??????? A good time of memories!!And what’s that little shadow doing peeking over your shoulder? Sneaking out of bed, did he?Beth

  2. I can relate to the Christmas music. My hubby and I are on the same page: we start listening to it in September (off and on!) Plus, we have a Thanksgiving/Christmas meal in the summertime! Every year after Christmas I buy a jug of egg nog and freeze it so we can have it after our “Mock Turkey Dinner” during which we listen to Christmas music and eat pie.Yeah, we’re weird like that. 🙂 But we love it!
